WELCOME NEW FRIENDS!

Body kneads yoga is an intimate studio with smaller class sizes where you won’t get lost in the crowd.
Our teachers accommodate for all different levels, so it is a great place for beginners and seasoned yogis alike!

Body kneads yoga is a place free of judgement where we welcome open minds and diversity.

If you are new to the practice of yoga, or even just new to our studio, here is some info that may be of use to you!

WHEN DO I ARRIVE?

• We recommend that students arrive at least 10 minutes before class to set up and relax. We open the studio approximately 15-20 minutes prior to each class. If you are new, make sure you give yourself enough time to fill out our new student form, if you haven’t signed up online.
ALWAYS check in at the desk on the 2nd Floor beforehand, please, regardless of signing up in advance or not.
• DON’T SWEAT IT! Sometimes life can make it hard to get to class on time.  You can always pop in late. We will never lock you out!
• If you have any injuries or limitations, please be sure to arrive early so you can discuss your needs with your instructor; this allows us to provide you with a safer, more supportive class experience.

SAVE TIME!

New clients are required to fill out basic info  and sign a waiver prior to taking their first class.  If you would like to save yourself a few extra minutes at check in, go to our homepage and find the “login | create account” button to create an account online.

WHAT DO I BRING?

•A yoga mat – bring your own, or rent one for $1.  We ask the rentals be cleaned and hung up after class.  We sell excellent quality yoga mats in the boutique.  They are B Mats made in Canada and we find them to be worth the investment.
•We recommend you come to class already hydrated but we do have a water dispenser available.

WHAT DO I WEAR?

We recommend you wear comfortable clothing that allows you to move freely.  you don’t have to wear “yoga clothes” – most practitioners in India don’t even know what that is – they practice in whatever they are wearing.  we also recommend a barefoot yoga practice on your mat.

The second floor bathroom is large enough for you to change clothes if you need to.  The third floor bathroom has showers and large changing area.
*Please refrain from wearing perfumes, colognes, or strong smelling lotions (etc), as some students are very sensitive to these smells. Thanks for understanding!

HEATED & NON-HEATED CLASSES

we offer both heated classes and non heated classes.  we often get calls from people asking about the temperature.  Our heated classes have temperatures of roughly 85 degrees – and may get warmer if there are many people in the class.  Non heated classes are roughly 75 degrees – if the weather is nice we open windows to let fresh air in.  We also use fans occasionally to move the air.  Power yoga classes are heated into the 90 degree range with humidity put into the air – great if you love the sweat – not great if you don’t.

Honestly the best way to know is to come in and try for yourself.
